A Call to Spiritual Action
It is part of the training of every serious Buddhist practitioner to periodically go into deep, solitary, meditation retreat. There's no substitution for this. In our ordinary, day-to-day lives we are consumed with responsibilities and diverted by distractions. It's only in retreat that we can really drill down deep and find, in ourselves, the truth that will allow us to really serve others.
We are very proud that, due to the generosity of people like you, the Mahasukha Kula Retreat Scholarship Program has been able to help put extremely well-trained and qualified but economically challenged people into long-term retreat over the past several years.* Some of the recipients of these scholarships are currently in a three-year retreat and will need on-going support. And other qualified but under-financed students will be needing our help in the next months.
Our funds are now nearly depleted.
So, please, consider making a recurring donation to this scholarship fund. Your contributions to the program are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. And, karmically, you will benefit a whole lot more.
With all good wishes,
*To date, $31,406 dollars in total scholarships have been awarded to 13 people.
